Why can digital instruments be more difficult to interpret than analog ones?

  2. Ok I'll have a crack at this one. The digital readouts are particularly sensitive and can change rapidly. So for example, if you are concentrating on the airspeed indicator it can seem to fluctuate in large increments as the computer interprets the incoming data and displays it, whereas an analog one show a much smoother transition.

    The same particularly applied to the VSI which can show dramatic up or down vertical speed instantaneously when an analog instrument show a more gradual variation
