  2. IMSAFE is a mnemonic that can be used to assess a pilots physical and mental state to determine if it is safe to fly. Each letter is a reminder for a mental or physical condition to check.
    I – do I have an illness,
M – I am under the effects of any medications above and beyond medications that have been reviewed and OK’d by your AME,
S- Are there any stress factors,
A- Am I under the influence of alcohol – this assessment is intended to be above and beyond the FAR regulations of 8 hours and 0.04%.
F - Am I fatigued? Did I get the proper amount of rest or sleep.
E – Am I under any emotional stresses that may impair my ability to fly safe
