On PAO ground, pilot reported that he was going on a short flight and asked if any controller was available to fly along with him. Ground controller responded that they will check and then came back and said that they had one controller that was available/interested. It was the new controller at PAO that went along for the flight. Never heard that before.
I heard that one too! Right before I turned off my plane yesterday! How funny. One of Patti's old students had a control ask how old she was and if her parents knew she was flying.
The other day I heard someone request to ground that they wanted to taxi to the run up area, perform a run up and then return.... they said they were not planning to depart. The controller told them that they could then do a 180 afterwards to head back... I wonder if this was for a maintenance check...
While at Oakdale, there was another plane taxing while I was about to depart. I heard over the radio I heard "are you with West Valley"... not knowing who they were asking I responded the 52535 was from West Valley... the person said they recognized the plane and they were a former instructor.
