This was also mentioned in the newsletter. It is hard to think how does one get into this situation since I am sure this pilot never intended to fly so close to the edge of fuel starvation. 1. Using "at the moment" fuel projections that don't predict impact of change in weather ahead. 2. Not including a planned fuel stop for a long flight and deciding to go for it --- 3. It just seems that the flight was long enough that it would logically make sense to plan a stop half way for fuel as well as maybe even to stretch, check the weather ... was there a time issue or a daylight issue that made this pilot decide not to do that???
